Can I make Band t-shirts without the bands permission?

I was wanting to make and sell original Band t-shirts, like one for Nickasaur, or Avenged Sevenfold, stuff like that, but im not planning on using any copyrighted images of them or anything like that. Do I need permission from them to use their logo or their name? I've seen a lot of people make t-shirts for bands and use their logos, lyrics, and pictures but I haven't been able to contact them to ask about needing permission or a license. Please help (:
