Why does the media now refer to "the Prophet Muhammad"? Do they also say "the Savior Jesus" or "Buddha the...?

There have been like five hundred million muhammads a few dozen of which held high power. Only one was a prophet though. When i say Muhammad there are a few names that could jump in your head including Muhammed Ali. When i say Jesus or Buddah there is only one thing that comes to your mind.
